I had a brisket sandwich with two sides ($9). The meat was good--juicy and flavorful. The bread was a stale, grocery store variety hamburger bun. Barbecue sauce is provided separately at the table. For my two sides I had mac and cheese and fried potatoes. The mac and cheese was passable, but the fried potatoes were terrible. They were inconsistently seasoned and inconsistently cooked. Some of it was spicy but most of it was bland, some was done but most of it was undercooked.

BBQ was excellent, big ribs, tender beef and pork. Sides were excellent. Jucy is what you would hope to find in southern states, random decor and plate style meal. Owner was cutting meat to order and was friendly and hospitable!

Great Bar-b-q. Better than Mark's feed store....

I'm a committed carnivore. I also understand that when it comes to opinions on BBQ, people will practically throw down to defend their favorite! I just happened upon Jucy's because I'm a business traveler and was working at a local hospital for a few weeks. Holy smokes (pun not intended, but it works)! Their BBQ is delicious! I rarely order brisket but I have to say, Jucy's brisket is fantastic, I love it chopped! We drive to Ohio a few times a year and I still end up in Louisville on business from time to time. If I'm anywhere near Jucy's, it's a planned stop. If I'm in Louisville and not near Jucy's, I spend a lot of time wishing I was. Excellent BBQ! Way to go Jucy's!

Nothing special here. Everything tasted microwaved. Too expensive for portion sizes. Friendly staff, nothing else to say for this place.

This place is a great little hole in the wall that serves some of the best bar-b-que around. The time to go is Monday nights when they have all you can eat ribs!! The ribs are fall off the bone tender and the prices are cheap, cheap, cheap. This place is owned by a former pilot so the decor is aviation oriented. Great place to take little boys who are interested in planes and big boys who dream of flying them.

Really shocked by the poor reviews and glad I didn't read them before going. We had a great experience! My wife had the ribs, I had a sandwich platter, and my girls had a kids meal. Yes, the food is served cafeteria style but it was all fresh, full of flavor, and awesome! I am not a huge BBQ fan. I rarely crave it and usually prefer to eat something else. But this place made me change that a bit. I would easily come back! We were greeted immediately and when we let them know we had never been there they explained everything in detail. Polite and quick which was great as our little ones were hungry. We are for about $30, which isn't bad at all for a family of 4.

I've had good barbeque, bad barbeque and many in-between, Jucy's is, by far, probably the best I've experienced in Kentucky. The meat is delicious and the sides always taste like something you would expect from a home cooked meal, and that's not a bad thing! The girls at the counter are always friendly and put generous portions on the plate. Plus, this is also one of the few chain barbeques that doesn't add the sauce before you get the food, just in case you like to eat your sandwich without it.

I have to say I am not really sure why this place does not get more stars. First off every time I have been there the owner is there and most times he is cutting the meat. THe brisket is a little drier than I like but in a restaurant setting like that it is impossible to keep it wet all the time unless you fly through the stuff but it always has a pronounced smoke flavour from the many piles of wood out front / beside and behind this joint. Like a true Texas BBQ pace they have onions, pickles, and jalapeños to go with your meal. On monday nights they have all you can eat ribs night and they are spare ribs (full spares) so you get a lot of meat and they don't sauce the ribs they let you do that, again true BBQ joints do this. I have only had certain sides, I like the potato salad and cole slaw, the green beans are really good and always make their way to my plate. The cobblers thats where things go out of sight, the cherry delight is quite fantastic. I think you need to go when they are busy which is true of any BBQ restaurant that will give you the best experience possible. the service here has always been very polite, I think the owner being on site helps that greatly. The only reason I am not going 5 stars is portion to price, but BBQ is incredibly expensive to make so I get it and respect it. Please remember to judge places on what they do and how they do it. I think the full package is important but good BBQ and some mediocre sides does not make this a 1 - 2 star place. Go for the meat and get the M&C somewhere else.

After years of living in Louisville I finally tried this establishment. I've always heard it was one of the better bbq joints in town. I honestly don't know what the big deal is about this place. From standing in line I had a very anxious feeling in regards to the sanitation. Employees touching different meat, throwing it around, never changing gloves. The food is just kept hot like in a cafeteria buffet. I had the pulled pork sandwich, green beans, and supposed potatoe salad. I felt like I was served subpar food and barely finished my food. They're are better bbq joints in town worth the money.

I really don't like having to write bad reviews on Southern BBQ restaurants, especially in Louisville. They're few and far between. I've eaten Jucy's twice now and just can't warrant a positive review. BOTH times I've had the opportunity to feast, the smell is way better than the taste. The meat is dry, overcooked, and isn't all that flavorful. The restaurant offers sides in a cafeteria style serving line...which is terrible. It's just slop inside hotel serving pans and heated and re-heated. The potato salad is essentially a potato paste, the green beans are turned into a mushy mess from being reheated all day. Their prices are way too steep for what you're getting. I will give them praise on their sweet tea. I was impressed and it was a 48-ounce cup of sweet Southern summertime nostalgia. Head toward Crestwood on the highway, there's a way better BBQ shack on the right side of the road I highly recommend.

the pork bbq was cooked well, soft but with a bit of chew left in it. bbq sauce was a bit sweet for me, but I'm from NC where pork bbq sauce is vinegar based. the brisket was tender, juicy and flavorful. it'd had as hint of smoke and didn't need any sauce. the beans had good flavor and bits of meat. the macaroni and cheese was Velveeta based but better than many homemade I've had. all in all this was decent bbq, well worth the price.

The pulled pork & chicken is excellent. My dad, a true Texan, would've loved the brisket. Actually, its the first good brisket I've eaten since moving here after growing up in Austin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Since its a great meal to take home, I haven't eaten in the restaurant. But, my boyfriend, Tom, enjoys grabbing a beer in this "friendly dive,"

Does not take much to please me. I literally eat anything. I ordered ribs , Mac n Cheese and fried potatoes. I was very disappointed. Any fast good is better than this place. Mac n cheese was completely cold, fried potatoes were severely spicy and not fried more like boiled. The ribs were what really got me. So tough I couldn't even get the meat to separate. Of the 5 bones 2 were eatable. My 2 year old would not even touch the Mac n cheese. His favorite food ! Just wait till you see the prices too ! I say go in and get what I got. Just so you know how bad food can be.

I thought about writing 2 reviews. One for the service and one for the food. The service could not have been better. The employees were all helpful, polite and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. The food was disappointing. There was no smoke flavor in any of the items we ordered. I ordered the "smoked" turkey sandwich (there is a 30 cent charge for a slice of cheese) with Swiss and the mac and cheese. Husband got the brisket and pulled pork with green and baked beans. The mac and cheese was pretty bland and gloppy. The two bean sides were the best of the bunch. The brisket was OK, but tasted like pot roast. A good smoked brisket should not taste like it's spent a lot of time in water. I will continue my quest for authentic Texas BBQ in Louisville.

It would be freaking nice to know they are closed on Sundays when they have signs on the damn highway! 2 miles out of my way.

Had lunch here today. Rib plate included 2 ribs for $13.50 (drink included in that price). Be prepared to pay a lot for what you get. And what you get is just okay BBQ. Pretty flavorless meat, mediocre BBQ sauce, dry pulled pork pre-sauced I believe to hide the dryness. Brisket was tender but taste like a roast, hardly any smoke flavor.

Very good BBQ! The best thing about Jucy's are the meat choices, from pulled pork and brisket to turkey, ham, and chicken. The sides are pretty good also. My only real issue would be the sauce. It is good but not great and there is only one to choose from. Overall, it is my favorite BBQ in Louisville.

Jucy's is a big disappointment to me. The BBQ is just so so. My biggest issue is with the sauce. A great BBQ place lets you add your own. This place serves it already applied and you have no choice. Also when you order take out, and you are paying by the pound and it includes the weight of the sauce. I've crossed them off my list as there are much better places to get great BBQ.

Cafeteria style

I think the yelpsters got it wrong this time. The only reason this place got 1 star was the brisket for tenderness. It was tasteless. No salt, pepper or any seasoning . You'd get more taste licking a cow. The ribs were plain old nasty. They looked & tasted awful. I would have taken a picture but was so stunned I did not think to take it. Avoid this at all cost. The service was not good as well.

Jucys is the best BBQ in the area. If you thinks marks feed store is better then you need brain check because marks can't hold a candle to jucys. My favorite meal to get there is the beef brisket. Jucy, tender, and flavored well. Goes great with the potatoes that have a kick to them and the pinto beans. The green beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and mac and cheese are all great. The dessert is a must have also. The cherry and apple cobbler is the best finsihing touch. The cornbread and sweet is also great. The pulled pork and ribs are a good choice also. A Louisville wonder :)

Great BBQ joint with a first-rate dining ambience. My only complaint is the room-temperature BBQ sauce at the table. And none was placed on my brisket sandwich. So you're going to have to be assertive and ask for some warmed BBQ sauce be placed it.

We were in KY for the 2010 Kentucky Derby and after a little bit a research, decided to try this local BBQ joint. We were not disappointed! Pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket, and honeyed ham - all outstanding. Lunch sandwiches are about $5, dinner platters are no more than $12. Sides were also good but the Apple Cobbler was worth going back for seconds :) You order "cafeteria style", moving down the line allowing attendants to load items onto your plate until you arrive at the register. It's quick, efficient and absolutely delicious. Enjoy!
